Beginning as an enthusiastically organised, serious-lack-of-budget event for a couple of friends and film buffs, this festival has grown dramatically during the past few years into one of the largest film festivals in the Czech Republic, which somehow maintains its original profile as an audience-friendly festival.

In the new 12-screen multiplex cinema Village Cinemas Andel, FEBIOFEST promises visitors excellent screening conditions for all formats and supreme comfort. The festival also takes advantage of two other unique venues: PONREPO Cinema for Czech Archive prints, and a special Video Auditorium whose location varies from year to year to bring selected films to a public space such as a train station or a church – for free.

Into the evening the festival focuses closer on music, showcasing jazz, blues, avant-garde and alternative rock concerts in the multiplex cinema garages.

To filmmakers and celebrities, FEBIOFEST offers a fabulous stay in Prague – a city known for its beer and film buffs, at hotels conveniently located next to the festival cinema and close to the Czech capital’s magical Old Town.
